World Gratitude Day

Happy World Gratitude Day.

Did you know that it has been scientifically proven that practicing gratitude on a regular basis can be life changing if you’re consistent?  Read how gratitude can benefit you by following the link below.

7 Scientifically Proven Benefits of Gratitude

It’s nice that World Gratitude Day falls on a Friday because it makes me grateful that the weekend is close enough to taste!  But besides being grateful for a couple of days off work, I do have much more in my life that I really have to be grateful for.

Top of my list…. My family
I am, and always will be grateful for my family and friends.  This is gratitude that I will have each and every day of my life!  Every day with them brings new joy.  Having family and friends in my life means that I will always have someone to love, someone to laugh with, someone to cry with, someone to lean on, someone to share experiences with, someone to be honest with me and someone to love me.

My Dogs
It has been said that having a dog is beneficial to our physical and mental health. I can confirm that this is true and for me, I get 2x the benefits. My 2 dogs ensure that I walk at least 30 minutes every day whether I want to or not, and they don’t care how cold or snowy it is.  And the unconditional love and affection warms my soul to the core. After a really hard year in 2016 and losing our other little dog, Buzz, these little fur balls brought some much needed love and happiness back into my life and our home.

Memories of my father
I will always be grateful for wonderful memories of my dad who we lost in June of 2016.  I think of him several times a day, every single day but now and again I will hear a story or see a picture of him that triggers a new memory or one I possibly forgot about.

My brother sent me this picture one evening and the subject line was “Can you believe I have a picture of dad in heaven?”
I am confident that everyone who knew our father would agree entirely that this is exactly how dad is spending his time in heaven.

I miss him dearly but I’m so grateful for the love and memories he gave me growing up.  I could not have handpicked a better dad.

“Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.”  ~William Arthur Ward
