Happy Superbowl Sunday

Happy Superbowl Sunday!

Football fans from all over the U.S. and Canada are gathering today to celebrate and cheer on The Patriots and Rams. Then there’s me who only mildly understands American Football who is attending a Superbowl party just to watch the halftime show and to see what food everyone is contributing. Potlucks are always awesome because I love it when everyone can contribute their favourite dish or a dish they are proud of.

I am contributing BBQ and jelly meatballs. The tanginess of BBQ sauce and sweetness of jelly combines into a greatness that everyone can enjoy. And they are so simple to make!

BBQ and Jelly Meatballs (Original Recipe*)

1 bottle (18 oz.) Sweet Baby Ray’s Original BBQ Sauce

1 500 ml jar of grape jelly

2 lbs of frozen Italian meatballs

*Note: I modified this recipe today by adding a 12 oz bottle of Heinz Chili Sauce and an additional 2 lbs of meatballs to accommodate the number of people attending the Superbowl party we were attending.

Combine Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce with grape jelly (along with chili sauce if you use it) in crock pot and stir well.

Add frozen meatballs to mixture and stir until evenly coated.

Cover and set on high heat and allow meatballs to cook for about 3 hours, stirring at halftime.

When done, watch as they get devoured!
